Place your hand over the clear plastic cover and 'squeeze'. The cover should then pry off. 

Please note: The cover can sometimes be on quite tight so you may need to be tough with it.

When direct sunlight passes through the panels (located on top of your light) the battery inside stores the solar energy and when it gets dark it transforms it into electrical energy to power the light.

But how does the Solar Light know to come on at night?

There is a detector inside the light which recognises the low light levels which then activates the light.

The AA battery, that has been charged from the direct sunlight in the day, powers the light throughout the night.

Please note: Our solar lights are not motion censored and will turn on once dark, and turn off when they run out of charge.

The solar lights we’ve been using since summer 2020 for our Solar Wall Plaques come with a removable rechargeable AA battery. 

This means when the battery is no longer able to hold the charge, all you need to do is simply replace it with another rechargeable AA battery! You can purchase them on our store here.

Inside your Solar Light there is a AA battery.

This is a rechargeable battery that is charged direct sunlight. 

Once you activate the solar light, the direct sunlight passes through the panels (located on the top of your light), the battery inside stores the solar energy and when it gets dark it transforms it into electrical energy to power and turn on the light.

The length of time that the lights stay on for is completely dependent on how much direct sunlight they receive during the day, meaning it can vary day by day.

Their location in your garden can have a large effect on them too, for example if they get less sunlight during the day due to shade cast onto them whilst the sun goes across the sky. 

Keep an eye on your solar lights to check they receive enough light throughout the day to full charge their battery.

Another way to test this would be to turn the light ‘off’ for a few days. 

This will still allow the battery to charge, but it won’t allow the battery to activate at night allowing it to gain a fuller charge. After a few days turn the light back ‘on’ and see if the light stays on for longer.

Firstly, we are sorry to hear you light isn't working as expected.

The first things that need to be checked are:

a) Has the light been turned on? 

There is a small switch located under the clear plastic cover that needs to be activated to allow the light to turn on. Photo instructions here.

b) Is the battery pushed in all the way and connected to the two metal terminals?

Sometimes they can become slightly loose in transit which can cause slight connectivity issues. Once re-connected properly the light can function as normal.

In short - YES!

If your light has stopped working at night, it is likely the battery is no longer able to hold the charge.

We have 2 generations of light models, as we updated our lights in September 2020, so it depends which light model you have on your item. 

1st Generation Solar Lights - purchased before September 2020

• ➡️ The batteries are soldered into the solar light unit and whilst this has its own benefits does not allow the battery to be replaced. 
• ➡️ HOWEVER, There's no need to throw away your entire Wall Plaque, just simply replace the light unit instead.
• ➡️ The light replacement units are our new 2nd generation lights with changeable batteries too.

2nd Generation Solar Lights - purchased after September 2020

• ➡️ The 2nd generation light does allow the battery to be replaced to a standard AA rechargeable battery.

On the longest day of the year (21st June) the UK can enjoy around a whopping 16 hours of daylight (that means lots of lovely direct sunlight to help your solar lights charge!)

Whereas the shortest day of the year (21st December) the UK may ONLY receive around 8 hours of daylight. This doesn’t mean your solar lights won’t turn on. It will turn on but won’t stay on for quite so long.

This is useful to keep in mind if by the time you arrive home from work in the evening - they may have already switched on and turned off again!

If your tracking information says 'Delivered' please check to see if your parcel has been left in any 'hiding places' around your house or with a neighbour.

Our Solar Plaques, Basket Brackets and Wall Art are made for outdoor. They are coated to protect them from our lovely wet weather here in the UK. We chemically treat and powder-coat them to give the best protection. 

Our Wall Plaques and Basket Brackets are designed and made by us. They are laser cut from Mild Steel. After this they are then chemically treated and powder-coated for protection against our lovely British Weather.

Due to the way our lights are made, we are unable to produce custom designs. They are all pre-made on industrial machinery so the cost involved would be too expensive, sorry! :(
